New threats every day
In today’s world, there’s a growing number of hazards awaiting the unwary organisation. Stories about the increasing sophistication of hackers and identity fraudsters, threats of terrorism or incidents of natural disaster make for a constant stream of news headlines. Group Security & Fraud supports the RBS group on how to prepare for and address these threats

Protecting the Group, its people and its assets
Our work covers a variety of different areas, from ensuring the confidentiality of data, carrying out due diligence on business prospects, analysing intelligence data or investigating new fraud trends to business continuity planning and even how to protect our buildings against burglaries or ram raids. By devising and rolling out innovative and creative prevention strategies, we help to minimise the threats to the Group, our customers, assets, information, and people.

The safest place to do business
It’s all about staying one step ahead of the criminals and making the Group the safest place to do business – and it’s the kind of work that brings new challenges every day.

24 months of real responsibility
The programme typically lasts for 24 months. It’s split into three eight-month placements, each of which will put real responsibility in your hands from day one but, at the same time, let you use your initiative and innovative thinking in very different ways.

Pit your wits against criminals
You might find yourself pitting your wits against cyber criminals, taking down ‘phishing’ sites, for example, to reduce our customers’ exposure to fraud. You could be researching a foreign country, to advise our people on precautions or best practice when travelling there. Or you could be liaising with law enforcement agencies to help predict new threats to RBS.

There’ll be no place to hide
Whatever you’re doing, you’ll be given the chance to lead teams and work side-by-side with people who are considered experts in their fields. There’ll be no place to hide. But you’ll quickly become a trusted advisor to many areas of our business.

Who we’re looking for
We’re in a rapidly changing world where new security and fraud threats present themselves every day. The type of people who do well here thrive on that kind of challenge and the need for constant innovation. Leadership qualities, good negotiation and collaborative skills are equally as important as academic achievement.
