RBS Insurance is one of Europe’s largest general insurers; the largest in the UK and with a growing share in Spain, Italy and Germany. We sell and underwrite personal and commercial insurance both direct and via brokers and partnerships, and have some of the biggest and best known UK brands in our portfolio including; Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege, NIG, Devitt, Green Flag and Tracker. In the UK we are number one in Personal Motor Insurance and number two in Home Insurance.

Two paths to choose from
We offer two programmes – Insurance Categories and Technical Services.
Choose Insurance Categories and you could help shape and develop the products of some of the best known brands in the insurance market or work with our many partners or commercial businesses. Your degree could be in any discipline. More important for success here is a numerate A level plus a keen commercial mind and the ability to collaborate.
You’ll need a degree with a Mathematical, Statistical and Analytical bias, plus a numerate A level, to join Technical Services. Working closely with Insurance Analysis and the Insurance Categories, you might produce world-class pricing and reserving models or help monitor and control our appetite for risk by interpreting statistical models and presenting your findings to the business.
Developing in all directions
Our 18-month programmes are all about developing your leadership and technical insurance skills – in effect, preparing you to play a part in the future of RBS Insurance. During the programme you’ll be offered a series of relevant placements to build your technical expertise and enhance your industry knowledge while working across our different brands.
Real world experience and a professional qualification
By the time you finish, you’ll have excellent understanding of our core business, and be well equipped for the breadth of challenge and opportunity to follow. It’s certainly hard work – you may be studying for your CII qualification while delivering results in a real-life business setting. But the knowledge you’ll gain – as well as the prospects and rewards you can expect – are well worth the effort.

We want you to show us what you’re capable of, so we’re keen to give you all the responsibility you can handle. You could find yourself involved in anything from analysing what our customers want and how we can deliver it, to helping us develop a winning pricing strategy for our billion-pound brands, to creating new products in tune with today’s changing consumer needs.
