Keeping us one step ahead
In the fast-paced world of Financial Services, customers and employees expect a quick, reliable service which can be accessed at any time, anywhere in the world. Technology Services (TS) provides this. We have an exceptional record of designing and delivering large-scale, often global, integration projects and IT solutions through the skills, abilities and focus of our people. We’re behind the third largest ATM system in Europe. We also developed and maintain the systems that process more than £120 billion a day.

The backbone of our business
Technology Services sits within the Manufacturing Division of the RBS group. We provide expert advice and creative technology solutions in two key areas: Group Technology, which is responsible for Group Solutions and Business Control; and Technology Services, which looks after IT Operations, Infrastructure Projects, the ABN AMRO Integration programme and our APS functions. Our technology provides the backbone of the RBS group – and it’s on a scale few can match.

The full flavour of a global business
The TS programme runs for two years and typically consists of three placements, each lasting eight months. On these placements, you can expect to get involved in everything from strategy to development. And over the course of the three placements, you’ll experience the full flavour of working in a global business on cross-border technology projects. You’ll work with people both within Technology Services and across the businesses to add value through your relationships.

Take control of your development
There’ll be plenty of chances to see close-up the incredible range of work we’re involved in. And countless opportunities to learn from and contribute to it. We’ll give you all the support you need to develop your skills and expertise. But when it comes to planning your own progression, you’ll take the front seat. We’ll expect you to identify assignments that match your development needs and aspirations then grasp those opportunities as they come up.

Diving straight in
In your first year, you’ll work towards our own internal Technology Services qualification as well as the ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis. At times, it may feel like you’ve been thrown in at the deep end. But we’re looking for people who can perform in a challenging environment that can change quickly. And this is your chance to show us that you’ve got what it takes.

Commitment is more important than your degree
While it is important that you’re committed to a technology-based career, you needn’t necessarily have gained a technology-focused degree. We’re particularly interested in hearing from graduates with some experience either through an industrial placement or through previous work. Paid or unpaid, this will show us your ability to work in demanding situations in a collaborative manner and will have prepared you for the challenging area in which we operate.
